How to Clean a Deep Fryer

 

People like fried delicacies. Electric deep fryers are a time-saver for many cooks. It is really a headache to keep the deep fryer always clean.

This is actually why so many people prefer to taste deep fried foods at restaurants rather than deal with the fuss of doing deep frying oil cooking at home.

 

Here are some tips for you to clean a deep fryer:

 

1. Unplug the deep fryer and let the oil cool down (about 2 hours). When the oil cool to about 150 degrees F, drain the oil out of the fryer.  

      

2. Wipe out any food remnants with paper towels.

 

3. Since not all the deep fryers are dishwasher safe, check with the manual before throwing them in a dishwasher. If not, do as following tips.
        
4. Add some warm water and drops of dishwashing liquid into the oil tank. Mix them and leave it for about 30 minutes, then wash it 
with a rough sponge.

5. Scrub the side and inner of the tank hard until it’s clean.
 
6. Rinse the deep fryer until the detergent is gone.

 

7. Clean the housing of the deep fryer with a paste made from baking soda and water. Wait for about 5 to 10 minutes, rinse it with a wet cloth or paper towel.

 

8. Leave them to air dry.
